Happy New Year!

When I last wrote, we were expecting our first child. Well – now we have a precocious one-year-old running around our apartment. Or at least he’s trying to, evidenced by the near consistent stream of “thuds” followed by crying echoing down the hallway.

Last night, we were able to host a small party with friends to celebrate our son’s birthday. After our guests left, we realized that this is what our New Year’s Eve celebrations will look like now: jointly celebrating a birthday and the start of a new year.

Is that a bad thing? Well… no. Just different.

And sometimes, you just have to roll with different – whatever that may be.

With all of the unexpected we’ve faced the past two years, we hope that you roll well with the changes life throws at you and find joy in where the Lord has put you.

P.S. We (mom and dad) made it past midnight. We might have only been half awake, but we made it.
